Second Behavioural Safety Seminar

Second Behavioural Safety Seminar At Stirling Castle Is A Resounding Success

Company culture is dead, individual behaviour is alive and kicking according to the guests at Pivotal's second Safe Organisation seminar. Held at the prestigious Stirling Castle, the event was attended by 45 Senior Health & Safety Managers from a wide range of industries including the Oil & Gas industry, Housebuilders, Whisky Producers, Aeroplane parts manufacturers and drink manufacturers.

Those attending were hypnotised by the definition of Behavioural Safety from Charles Shoesmith, the Managing Director of Pivotal's Partner Company PsychaLogica. Jane Gillham, Director of Pivotal Performance gave an energising presentation on how to benchmark a company's current position, identifying areas of good practice in attending organisations.

Following a tour of Stirling Castle during lunch, guest speakers included Rob Riley Health & Safety Manager at Scottish Power and Ken Francey, Senior Manager at ExxonMobil gave two very dynamic and entertaining presentations on their company's approach to behavioural safety, highlighting to guests that Behaviour is the most fundamental aspect of attaining a Safe Organisation.

Tim French, Managing Director of Pivotal Performance commented:

"This was a terrific day, and it was great to see so many people attending the seminar. Influencing behaviour - both in a safety context and more widely across an organisation is a complex issue. Our aim was to give delegates an insight into what drives behaviour and help them to find the best place to start within their own organisation. Pivotal and Psychalogica combine to offer real expertise in change, culture, leadership and what really drives behaviour in a health and safety context. We look forward to furthering the debate with all of our clients on this fascinating issue."
